1 Mother's Day Gift Inspiration
06:24
We have two beautiful new scarves on the website this week as part of the new 'French Collection'; 'The Paris Silk Scarf' and 'Vintage Jewellery silk scarf', perfect for a Mother's Day Gift.
The Paris scarf has hand drawn illustrations of the streets of Paris, including a patisserie, a shoe shop and a typical French style cafe. This scarf tells the tale of the romance of wondering down Paris backstreets exploring and discovering treasures on the way. This scarf comes in red or blue stripes complete with a cute mini Eiffel Tower charm.
Have fun with this scarf and the many ways to wear it... Dress up an outfit by tying two corners in a simple knot and resting it over your shoulders. Or for the true French look try wearing it neatly folded on your head like the image below!

The Vintage Jewellery silk scarf is adorned with hand illustrated vintage jewels, sparkling
with colourful hues reflected off diamonds, pearls and sapphires. A silk
scarf full of treasures waiting to be discovered and worn. Another great gift for Mother's Day this year! Try wearing this silk scarf as a shawl on your shoulders over an evening dress or tie it around your neck for a more casual look with the filigree hamsa hand charm on show!
0 Brit Awards Fun!
08:19
As Official Partners to The Brit Awards 2012 we were invited down on the evening to watch the show (which was incredible) and also to the after show party (just as incredible!)
All the nominees, winners and presenters received a YAELLE silk scarf along with other goodie bag treats such as a leather Coach tote bag, Agent Provocateur perfume and a French connection shopping spree.
Performances by Adele and Florence + The Machine were personal favourites and outfits worn by Jessie J and Rhianna we loved! Jessie J wore a beautiful bright red sheer gown by Indian designers Falguni & Shane Peacock. This is part of their SS campaign and the below image of the dress was shot in Los Angeles.
As ever Rihanna's performance of We Found Love complete with on stage paint fights was one to remember! Rihanna won Best International Artist which was well deserved.
Of course the Brits never finishes without some sort of drama! We all couldn't believe when James Corden had to ask Adele to stop her speech! We could see what was happening from our seats and felt sorry for poor James Corden who had to stop her! To the amusement of the crowd, Adele stuck her middle finger up at the 'suits' to a huge cheer from the audience. In consolation she did take home Brit Awards for Best British Album and Best British Female, well done Adele!

0 Style on Sunday Features Hamsa Purple Scarf!
13:29
Hamsa Purple silk scarf was featured in the Style on Sunday supplement! The Hamsa hand is believed to bring luck and prosperity. The Hamsa Purple silk scarf is adorned with beautifully hand drawn hamsa hands in bright colours and a bold purple background. I was inspired by the way the hamsa hand is used as a decoration on walls in places like Morocco. I love the below image of all the different shapes and sizes of the hamsa's against the wash of bright turquoise!
0 Mulberry's Delicious SS12 Shoot
15:53
I love this Mulberry shoot! Shot at the iconic Brighton Pier it screams quintessential Britishness! Being a British brand is very important to Yaelle scarves. Yaelle scarves are proud to be made in Britain!
The Mulberry SS12 shoot was photographed by Tim Waker.
Playfully oversized sticks of rock and melted ice cream sets the scene perfectly for the Great British summer. This delicious range of Mulberry bags against this fantasy backdrop do actually look good enough to eat.
0 Paper Fashion
16:37
Whilst in my studio getting my new mood board together for my new silk scarf collection I came across Jennifer Collier.
It is unusual that something grabs my attention as much as Stafford based paper artist Jennifer Collier did. Her work is so delicate and beautiful I think I looked at every single piece on her website... at least 3 times! She creates everything from paper, the papers themselves are often pages from books or maps which would otherwise be thrown away. I love how much attention to detail she pays in her work. I sat for ages looking at images of her work and noticing new things every time I looked. This is what I try and create whilst drawing designs for my scarves. I like the fact that you look at something and then the more you look the detail you see.
I often have women pick up a scarf and comment on the design and then a few moments later they notice something new... and then again and again! I think Jennifer Collier's work is probably like this too! I love the tiny stitch marks and mixed media of her work. My favourites have to be the paper binoculars and the stamp dress! I don't know why but these pieces just make me smile.
1 Cote D'azur Photoshoot
10:39
For my SS12 scarf collection I decided I wanted to go to the place where I always feel most inspired.... the South of France. India Hobson and I have been talking and planning this shoot for over a year, so to finally get out there in the sun to shoot was pretty amazing. The weather was perfect and as well as shooting we also got time to do a little sun bathing and exploring which was a bonus!
Aaron who did the last fashion film for me also flew out to film another fashion film. We shot it in Monaco and apart from getting told off every so often for using a tripod (apparently you can't shoot with a tripod in Monaco unless you have a permit!) it was a really exciting day.
I don't want to reveal too much of what happened and the amazing images we got so here are a few sneak peaks of behind the scenes.
A HUGE thank you to the following people who all helped and contributed in one way or another to make this fantastic shoot and experience happen.
India Hobson, Ellie Hallsworth, Aaron Cheesman, Galya & Nat Denaro, Lee Joseph Elliot, Lee Thompson, Beth Rees, Floriane Falcou, Joelle Falcou & Jessie Lane.

0 A Shaded View of Fashion
14:36
While I was at University I was really interested in alternate ways to show my designs rather than just on a catwalk or in sketchbook. I did my dissertation on technologies and how they are helping designers take the traditional fashion show to a new level. For example, the Diesel hologram catwalk show where they had virtual seal life creatures swimming alongside the real life catwalk models. Then there was the Kate Moss and McQueen hologram piece which was simply beautiful and way ahead of its time. These fresh takes on traditional methods of catwalks I find fascinating.
I was excited to find out that there is an actual fashion film festival called A Shaded View of Fashion held in Paris this September. I think fashion film is a very powerful media so for there to be a whole film festival dedicate to this is very exciting. I am pleased that myself and Ched53 will be collaborating on another short fashion film to show Yaelle scarves new collection together very soon in the glamours Monaco.... watch this space! Check out our previous video 'Yaelle Scarves Fashion Film'

0 Anouska London
12:24
I am completely in love with Anouska London jewellery! We have very much the same influences in regards to bold colour and the hamsa hand! I was lucky enough to receive a turquoise and gold hamsa hand bracelet ( my two favourite colour combinations ever) and I don't think I'm ever going to take it off! Anouska's jewellery is very eye catching and the bracelets are stackable so you can create stunning combinations. If you are wanting some individual pieces of jewellery this summer take a look at the website.... http://www.anouskalondon.com/# you will be spoilt for choice!
1 Ftape
13:33
I was introduced to the website www.ftape.com by India Hobson (amazing photographer who has done my last photoshoot and will be doing my next one!) She showed me a photoshoot which she thought I would like... and I fell in love with it so thought I would share it! It was inspired by the artist Vladimir Tretchikoff and is a contemporary take his beautiful paintings. I love the way his paintings are so bold and colourful yet also very muted. Below are images of his original paintings called Balinese Girl and Chinese Girl. Below that are the images from the Ftape photoshoot.
I want to incorporate these ideas for the next photoshoot for Yaelle Scarves. These colours printed onto silk will make gorgeous scarves!
